CBAHM

The University of Batangas (formerly known as Western Philippine College) was founded on April 28, 1946. It is situated at the heart of Batangas City. The Western Philippine Colleges saw its first day classes on April 28, 1947 in a small rented house on Rizal Avenue with a roster of 48 students. The first courses offered were Education, Liberal Arts and Commerce.

At present, the Business Administration Program enjoys a Level IV status, Level III status for Accountancy and Level II for International Hospitality Management as accredited by Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA); an evidence of the program’s continuous improvement in providing quality educational service. The accredited status of the university is a commitment to stakeholders that they will receive education that is a balance between high academic quality and professional relevance through a well-integrated program of activities and processes that satisfies the needs of the corporate world. It signified that the institution has the essential and desirable features of quality professional education.

The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration program of the University of Batangas was awarded by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) as the Center of Development in Business Education and recognized as the Delivering Higher Educational Institution (DHEI) for Business Analytics. The college continues to commit itself in providing quality degree programs designed to train students to become globally competitive business leaders and professionals and producing quality graduates who have grown to hold successful positions in all aspects of society not only in Batangas but in the country and the rest of the world.

Diploma in International Hospitality Management is a two – year program designed to produce graduates with strong foundation in the hospitality industry. This is a ladderized program with a competency-based curriculum that can be pursued later into BSIHM program.

The Accountancy Department envisions being a center of excellence in the field of accountancy in the region in the next five (5) years responsible for serving a wider community by providing quality accounting education.

Mission

The Accountancy Department offers equal opportunities in quality accounting education through its delivery of relevant knowledge and skills using advanced technology to the student vital to their personal and professional growth. The department seeks to produce Certified Accountants who are expected to serve the broader community in the region.

Objectives of BS - Accountancy

Bachelor of Science in Accountancy is a five-year program. Its primary goal is to produce competent and ethical professional accountants capable of making a positive contribution over their lifetimes to the profession and society in which they work. The BSA program provides a foundation of professional knowledge, professional skills, and professional values, ethics and attitudes that enable them to continue to learn and adapt to change throughout their professional lives. Also, the program prepares the students for the CPA licensure examinations and for employment in commerce and industry, public practice, government and education sectors which are judiciously blend with the primary goal of preparing students for a successful long-term professional accounting career. - Support various stakeholders in taking strategic and operating decisions through the presentation and analysis of financial data and information arising from business transactions;
- Continuously acquire and maintain professional competence through related work experience and Continuing Professional Development (CPD);
- Pursue further professional licensure (Certified Public Accountant) and certifications and obtain global qualifications to progress to international work environment;
- Adhere to the Professional Code of Ethics in the practice of the Accountancy profession;
- Participate in gender-responsive activities geared towards improvements of the local community, professional organization and the society as a whole.
- Generates knowledge through interdisciplinary research and publications in technology, development, and gender relations.

Objectives of BS - Internal Auditing

- Effectively implement internal audit function which is aligned with both short-term and strategic goals of the organization, supporting the management in making decisions which include delivery of outcomes that will provide reliable assurance to those charged with governance and stewardship;
- Continuously acquire and maintain professional competence through related work experience and Continuing Professional Development(CPD);
- Pursue further professional licensure (Certified Professional Accountant) and certifications and obtain global qualifications to progress to international work environment;
- Demonstrate uncompromised integrity, objectivity in mindset and approach and commitment to competence;
- Participate in gender-responsive activities geared towards improvements of the local community, professional organization and the society as a whole

Objectives of BS - Management Accounting

- Deploy technical and strategic skills contributing greatly to the planning, controlling and performance evaluation activities of their organizations; collaborating with other managers in preparing alternative scenarios and evaluating different possible courses of action; and supporting the management in taking strategic decisions;
- Continuously acquire and maintain professional competence through related work experience and Continuing Professional Development(CPD);
- Pursue further professional licensure (Certified Professional Accountant) and certifications and obtain global qualifications to progress to international work environment;
- Practice the professional and ethical behavior required in the practice of management accounting;

Bachelor of Science in Business Administration is a four-year program consisting of five majors namely, Accounting Management, Business Management, Financial Management, Human Resources Development Management and Marketing Management. Also, BSBA program is in partnership with Australian Skills Institute (ASI) under Dual Diploma Program. The BSBA program aims to develop students who are undeniably knowledgeable and adept in business discipline concepts and fundamentals consistent with industry required competencies. The program will surely help students in developing the business and management competencies they needed to have a successful career either in multinational corporations or starting their own company.

Objectives of Business Analytics Track

- Analyze data from multiple sources
- Present data in different scenarios that can be used by management for facts base decision-making.
- Awareness of ethical norms in each subject as well as compliance to corporate code of ethics, policies, rules, regulations, best practices, applicable laws governing confidentiality and non-disclosure agreement
- Proper conduct in the course apprenticeship/ on the job-training phases of the program

BS Entrepreneurship program aims to be the leading business school specializing in entrepreneurship in CALABARZON in the next ten (10) years by providing quality entrepreneurship education and produce globally-competent and innovative entrepreneurs.

Mission

The program aims to train holistic students in canonical business theories and provide guidance in hands-on setting up and running a business guided by excellence and commitment to social responsibility.

Bachelor of Science in International Hospitality Management (Dual Diploma Program) The program is designed for students who wish to obtain career opportunities in the hotel and restaurant service industry. Students will gain a strong foundation of the skills required to begin a career in the hotel and restaurant industry through a comprehensive local and international workshop and practicum training. Also, it is designed for students who wish to obtain career opportunities in the hotel and restaurant service industry. The Bachelor of Science in International Hospitality Management with specialization in Cruise line Operations focuses on the accommodations, food and beverage service, and kitchen operation aspects on board a vessel. It seeks to produce graduates that are highly competent in the industry of Travel while also being well-oriented in the concepts of marketing, sales, itinerary planning, entrepreneurship and tour guiding. These courses will prepare students for the competitive world of travel management operations.
