Demonstrating its commitment to advancing innovation, productivity, and lifelong learning, the University of Batangas Lipa City recognized the successful speaking engagement of Mr. Ericson D. Mendoza, Director of the Center for Business and Innovation, who served as a resource speaker for Ask Lex PH Academy on June 26, 2026. During the session titled “SIPAG: Strategies for Increasing Productivity and Growth,” Mr. Mendoza discussed practical and innovation-driven approaches to enhancing organizational performance, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development through the SIPAG framework.
The lecture introduced SIPAG (Strategies for Increasing Productivity and Growth) as a comprehensive framework that redefines the Filipino value of sipag (hard work) by integrating digital literacy, responsible innovation, and systems thinking. Widely adopted by organizations such as Ask Lex PH Academy and government institutions, including the Department of Science and Technology–Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCAARRD), the framework promotes resilient communities and competitive micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
Mr. Mendoza emphasized the framework’s key pillars, including Modernized Productivity, which encourages productivity citizenship through lifelong learning, sustainable work practices, and cross-sector collaboration; Science and Technology Integration, which applies innovation to improve traditional industries through smart technologies and advanced resource management; and Business and MSME Support, which complements initiatives such as TAGUMPAY (Technology Advancement, Growth, Understanding Market, and Partnerships leading to Achievements and Yield) by equipping entrepreneurs with strategies for market competitiveness, digital transformation, and sustainable enterprise development.
Through his engagement, Mr. Mendoza reinforced the importance of adopting innovative, technology-driven, and collaborative approaches to productivity and organizational growth while empowering professionals, entrepreneurs, and business leaders to respond effectively to evolving economic and industry demands.
The University of Batangas Lipa City continues to strengthen its commitment to fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and industry collaboration through meaningful academic and professional engagements that empower individuals and organizations with relevant knowledge and practical strategies. By promoting productivity, technological advancement, and cross-sector partnerships, the University advances the attainment of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs) 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
