CITEC

Established in 2019, the College of Information Technology, Entertainment, and Communication (CITEC) is one of the newest additions to UBLC. It originated as a small department offering the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and played a pivotal role as one of UBLC’s pioneer programs back in 2011. The introduction of the Bachelor in Multimedia Arts program paved the way for the establishment of this thriving college.

CITEC is committed to nurturing critical thinkers, fostering research-oriented minds, and empowering individuals with creativity and innovation. We aim to shape our students into skilled professionals who can analyze complex organizational challenges, design innovative solutions, and contribute to technological advancements in the fields of information technology, entertainment, and communication.

Bachelor in Multimedia Arts (BMMA)is a four-year degree program designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills in multimedia design, production and development. The program covers core skills in communications, programming, graphic design, combined with digital media and the internet. It also allows students to gain conceptual, technical, aesthetic, and professional skills on all media forms, such as digital and print media, mobile content, web content and design, interactive games and content, and exhibit installations. The incorporation of application projects and internship programs in the curriculum prepares the students to real industry set-ups and practices.

The Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) program is a four-year degree program which focuses on the study of computer utilization and computer software to plan, install, customize, operate, manage, administer and maintain information technology infrastructure. This program equips students with the basic ability to conceptualize, design and implement software applications. It provides the student with the knowledge to successfully apply information technology theory and principles to address real world business opportunities and challenges. BSIT program prepares students to be IT professionals who are able to perform installation, operation, development, maintenance and administration of computer applications.
