The University of Batangas Lipa City (UBLC) College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) held its 4th Ring Hop and Turnover of Command Ceremony, honoring graduating students and formally transferring leadership responsibilities to the incoming senior class as the academic year came to a close. The event brought together students, alumni, faculty members, administrators, and institutional partners in celebration of achievement, discipline, and service.

The ceremony recognized the accomplishments of the outgoing fourth-year students, who completed a productive year marked by active participation in community service initiatives, research endeavors, academic pursuits, and internship programs with various government agencies. These experiences strengthened their professional competencies and prepared them for future careers in law enforcement, public safety, and related fields.

A highlight of the event was the Ring Hop ceremony, a longstanding tradition of the University of Batangas College of Criminal Justice Education that celebrates the academic achievements of graduating students and symbolizes their transition from cadets and learners to future professionals and uniformed personnel committed to public service.

The program also featured the Turnover of Command Ceremony, an institutional tradition that signifies the seamless transfer of authority, responsibility, and accountability from outgoing student leaders to the incoming fourth-year class officers. The ceremony underscored the continuity of leadership and reinforced the values of integrity, discipline, and service that define the CCJE community.

Present during the event were CCJE faculty members led by Dr. Glenn R. Aguila, together with university officials and guests. Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Aurora P. Tolentino delivered the opening remarks, encouraging the incoming senior class to remain grounded in the values instilled by the University. She emphasized the importance of upholding integrity, striving for excellence, and becoming responsible professionals who embody the mission and vision of UBLC.

Representatives from the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), one of the College’s valued internship partners, also attended the ceremony, highlighting the strong collaboration between the University and government institutions in providing students with meaningful experiential learning opportunities.

The ceremony featured Police Colonel (PCOL) Ganaban C. Ali, Regional Chief of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Regional Field Unit 4A, as the guest speaker. In his address, PCOL Ali emphasized the importance of continuing to serve the communities to which future criminal justice professionals belong, reminding students that the people they serve depend on their commitment, competence, and integrity. He encouraged the graduating and incoming student leaders to remain dedicated to continuous learning, professional growth, and self-improvement as they prepare to become part of the public service sector. He further underscored that leadership is not only about authority but also about responsibility, compassion, and a genuine commitment to the welfare of others.

More than a ceremonial gathering, the 4th Ring Hop and Turnover of Command served as a tribute to the growth, achievements, and aspirations of CCJE students and alumni. The event reaffirmed the College’s commitment to developing competent, ethical, and service-oriented criminal justice professionals while ensuring that the legacy of leadership and integrity continues to guide future generations of UBLC CCJE students. Through initiatives that cultivate responsible leadership, accountability, and respect for the rule of law, the University of Batangas Lipa City advances its commitment to Sustainable Development Goal 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), contributing to the development of future professionals who will help build safer, more just, and more inclusive communities.
