Ar. Lucy Redobante-Lizardo, faculty member of the Bachelor of Science in Architecture program under the College of Engineering and Architecture (CENAR) of the University of Batangas Lipa City (UBLC), has achieved international academic recognition following the publication of her research paper titled “A Sustainable Housing Solution for Informal Settlers from the Eight Barangays of Tanauan City, Batangas” in the International Journal for Multidisciplinary Research (Volume 8, Issue 3, May–June 2026). The study contributes to ongoing efforts in addressing housing challenges faced by informal settler communities in Batangas.
The research focuses on developing sustainable and context-responsive housing solutions for informal settlers across eight barangays in Tanauan City. It explores design strategies and planning approaches aimed at improving living conditions while promoting environmental sustainability and community resilience. The publication underscores the role of architectural research in responding to pressing social development issues, particularly in urban and peri-urban communities.
