The University of Batangas Lipa City (UBLC) strengthens its global academic presence as Dr. Pastor R. Arguelles Jr., Director of the UBLC Research and Publications Office, received multiple international recognitions, editorial appointments, and speaking engagements in the first quarter of 2026, highlighting his significant contributions to artificial intelligence research and sustainable innovation.
Among his notable engagements were his presentation, “Smart Technologies for Sustainable Healthcare and Environmental Innovation,” during the International Conference on Sustainable Practices, Innovation, and Responsible Entrepreneurship held on March 13–14, 2026, and his invited talk, “Object Detecting CCTV: An Artificial Intelligence System Using Centroid Tracking Algorithm,” delivered during an international workshop organized by the Faculty of Management & Commerce and Centre for Sustainability & Business of PES University in Bengaluru, India on March 7, 2026.
His work emphasized the application of artificial intelligence in advancing healthcare systems, environmental sustainability, and smart infrastructure, supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs) 4 Quality Education, 9 Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, and 17 Partnerships for the Goals.
Further affirming his global impact, Dr. Arguelles received the Research Excellence 2026 recognition from Pimpri Chinchwad University for outstanding scholarly contributions. He also assumed key editorial leadership roles as Chief Editor of the International Journal of Sustainable Educational Practices and Future Trends under the Department of Computer and Robotics Education of the University of Uyo, Member of the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Academic Excellence & Research (IJAER 2026), and Editorial Committee Member for international conferences organized by NERD Publication.
