The University of Batangas Lipa City College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE), in collaboration with the Community Extension Services (CES), successfully published its research titled “Evaluating the Impact of a Monthly Clean-Up Drive Initiative of the UBLC College of Criminal Justice Education in Barangay Bulacnin, Lipa City” in the Instabright e-Gazette, Volume VII, Issue III (ISSN 2704-3010), an international online publication of Instabright Publication.

The study evaluated the outcomes of a sustained community clean-up drive conducted in Barangay Bulacnin, examining its environmental, social, and civic engagement impact among local residents and student volunteers. The research team was composed of Dr. Glenn R. Aguila, Dean of UBLC CCJE; Dr. Jovi Jane C. Bernales, faculty member; Ms. Lycka R. Marco, college secretary; and Mr. Apolinario Maranan, External Programs Coordinator. Their publication demonstrates UBLC’s commitment to producing research-driven extension programs that address real community needs while strengthening academic scholarship.

The successful publication highlights how institutional collaboration between academic units and extension offices transforms community service initiatives into evidence-based practices that contribute to sustainable development and local empowerment. Through systematic assessment, data collection, and community participation, the study documented how regular environmental activities foster civic responsibility, environmental awareness, and stakeholder engagement, reinforcing the university’s role as a partner in community development.

The achievement also aligns with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) by promoting experiential learning, research utilization, and knowledge dissemination beyond the classroom. This milestone affirms the University of Batangas Lipa City’s continuing pursuit of academic excellence, socially responsive research, and meaningful contributions to global academic discourse and community sustainability.
