UB welcomes CHED and RQAT for strategic ETEEAP Quality Assessment and Monitoring

The University of Batangas (UB) underwent a comprehensive evaluation of its Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP) as representatives from the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office IV (CHEDRO-IV) and the Regional Quality Assessment Team (RQAT) conducted an official monitoring visit on February 11, 2026. Held at the Patio Cafe, the engagement signaled the university’s persistent drive to align its non-traditional education pathways with the highest national standards.

The visit focused on ensuring that the institution’s ETEEAP framework effectively translates professional experience into academic credits, thereby maintaining the integrity and global competitiveness of its graduates.

During the session, the joint CHED and RQAT delegation scrutinized the university’s specialized curricula and assessment methods. The monitoring team included Dr. Corazon Flores, Dr. Christy Liene Niem, and Dr. Judith Mary Ann Chan from CHED, who provided regulatory oversight and guidance.

The Regional Quality Assessment Team (RQAT), composed of subject matter experts, evaluated the specific technicalities of the program offerings. The RQAT panel included: Dr. Rowena Abrea, Dr. Philip Cuizon, Dr. Edilberto Andal, Mr. Rodrigo Belleza, Jr., Dr. Amado Magsino, and Dr. Mark Irvin Celis.

This rigorous assessment ensures that professionals seeking to complete their degrees through ETEEAP receive an education that matches the quality of traditional residential programs.

UB continues to diversify its offerings for working professionals. Following the quality assessment, the university reaffirmed its readiness to provide ETEEAP pathways for the following degrees: Liberal Arts, Social Science, Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Education, Bachelor of Elementary Education, Bachelor of Secondary Education – Majors in Science, English, Mathematics, and Social Studies, Business & Hospitality, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Bachelor of Science in International Hospitality Management, Engineering, Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering, Information & Library Science, Bachelor of Library and Information Science, Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Bachelor of Science in Information Systems, Bachelor of Science in Information Technology.

UB utilizes the ETEEAP to bridge the gap between workforce experience and formal academic recognition, directly supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
