The Young Communicators’ Guild (YCG) and the University of Batangas Student Government (UBSG) reaffirmed their commitment to civic awareness and integrity through a special media episode titled “COMMusta Ka Ga? Episode 4 – Wear Black, Tie White,” released on October 2, 2025.
The production supported a university-wide campaign encouraging UBians to wear black attire and white ribbons as symbols of solidarity with the Filipino people in promoting good governance and standing against corruption.
Produced by the YCG under the College of Arts and Sciences, in partnership with the UBSG, the episode featured student hosts Cristal Iana Casa and Mark Evan Macalalad, who led discussions on the importance of integrity, transparency, and accountability among public officials. The program underscored that corruption not only steals a nation’s wealth but also “robs people of opportunities, dreams, and the hope for a better future.”
Despite challenges brought by a typhoon that caused class suspensions and limited participation in the national campaign, the student organizations continued their advocacy through media engagement. They emphasized that solidarity is not bound by time or circumstance but lives on through voices that speak for truth and justice.
Organizers noted that the initiative demonstrates the power of student-led media in advancing civic awareness and moral empowerment. Through “Wear Black, Tie White,” the YCG and UBSG highlighted the active role of the youth in promoting transparency, accountability, and good governance in society.
