UB, Guidance Counselors Honored at 2nd PGCA-Batangas “Parangal sa Natatanging Pamamatnubay at Gabay ng Batangan

The Philippine Guidance Counseling Association (PGCA) – Batangas Chapter honored outstanding individuals and institutions during the 2nd “Parangal sa Natatanging Pamamatnubay at Gabay ng Batangan”, a provincial-level awards program held every three years. The awards were conferred during the 9th PGCA-Batangas Professional Assembly, held at the University of Batangas – Lipa City Campus (UBLC) on April 4, 2025.

The event recognized outstanding individuals and academic institutions who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, service, and innovation in guidance and counseling across Batangas Province.

The University of Batangas was honored with the Gintong Parangal para sa Natatanging Institusyong Pang-Edukasyon sa Larangan ng Pamamatnubay at Gabay for its exemplary commitment to holistic student development. The institution was lauded for its strong and dynamic counseling programs, which have significantly contributed to the academic and personal growth of its learners.

Receiving the Gintong Parangal para sa Pinakanatatanging Tagapamatnubay sa Lalawigan ng Batangas sa Larangan ng Pamumuno, Pananaliksik at Paglilingkod sa Bayan, Dr. Carl Reman M. Maranan, RGC, RPsy, RPm, was recognized for his distinguished leadership and extensive contributions to research and public service within the field of guidance and counseling. Dr. Maranan’s unwavering dedication has elevated the standards of the profession in Batangas and continues to inspire fellow practitioners and students alike.

Dr. Hannah Ericka Andal, RGC, RPsy, received a Special Citation as Natatanging Tagapamatnubay sa Lalawigan ng Batangas sa Larangan ng Pamumuno for her outstanding leadership in guidance services. Her work has had a meaningful impact on shaping responsive and inclusive counseling programs within her institution and the wider community, reinforcing the essential role of leadership in the advancement of student support services.

In addition to the awarding ceremony, the event also marked the official introduction of the newly-elected officers of the PGCA-Batangas Chapter who will serve from 2024 to 2027. Dr. Rina R. Olan, RGC, was elected as Vice President, while Giselle Ann E. Manansala, RGC, RPm, will serve as the chapter’s Auditor. 

The PGCA-Batangas continues its mission of fostering a culture of excellence, compassion, and integrity among guidance counselors and educational institutions, ensuring that every Batangueño learner receives the support they need to thrive.
