For stronger institutions – The University of Batangas (UB) and Epson Precision Philippines, Inc. (EPPI) formalized their partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on October 28, 2025, at the UB Patio Café.
Representing UB were UB President Lily Marlene J. Hernandez-Bohn, Vice President for External Affairs Dr. Abegayle Machelle P. Chua, and Senior Vice President for Administration Mr. Alex A. Ramos. On the side of Epson Precision Philippines, Inc., the MoU was signed by EPPI President Mr. Yushi Irie, Corporate Management Senior General Manager Mr. Ito Manabu, and General Administration Assistant General Manager Mr. Dong Briones.
The partnership aims to enhance students’ industry readiness by providing opportunities for training, internships, and collaborative research. Both institutions emphasized their shared goal of promoting innovation, sustainable development, and professional excellence through academic-industry synergy.
UB President Hernandez-Bohn expressed her gratitude to EPPI, Inc. for its support over the years during her welcome remarks, highlighting how it has been accommodating to UB graduates and noting its long-standing partnership with the institution.
“The partnership, which was already strong, has grown even stronger,” said UB President Hernandez-Bohn.
Also present during the ceremony were UB alumnae who now hold key positions at Epson, including Ms. Tita Alfaro (Batch 1995, BS Industrial Engineering), Ms. Arlene Driz (Batch 2006, BS Computer Science), Ms. Sharmaine Bancoro (Batch 2015, BS Industrial Engineering), and Ms. Grace Joy Magsumbol (Batch 2017, BS Industrial Engineering). Their success stories served as an inspiration to current students, demonstrating UB’s legacy of producing competent professionals who thrive in the global industry.
After the signing, the EPPI delegation toured the university’s premier facilities, including CQQ, Anatomage Lab, ML Gym, CoPWell, and the Millennium Campus. The tour showcased UB’s commitment to modern education through technology integration, wellness promotion, and innovation-driven learning environments.
