The University of Batangas proudly celebrates the outstanding international achievement of Ms. Carmela Lanesca M. Berania, a second-year AB Communication student from the College of Arts and Sciences, who represented the Philippines as a semifinalist at the ESU-London International Public Speaking Competition held from May 12 to 16, 2025, in London, United Kingdom.

Ms. Berania earned the honor of representing the country after a rigorous selection process, standing out among exceptional student speakers from around the world. Organized by the English-Speaking Union (ESU), the annual competition is one of the most prestigious platforms for young people to express their views on global issues through the art of persuasive public speaking.

This achievement would not have been possible without the dedication and guidance of her coaches: Mr. Juilius Ceazer Lepran, Ms. Angel Liga, and Mr. Jerome Arcega, whose mentorship and support helped prepare Carmela for the international stage.

Her participation and success as a semifinalist not only highlight her eloquence, critical thinking, and leadership potential, but also bring pride to the University of Batangas and the entire Philippine delegation. Through her powerful delivery and well-articulated ideas, Ms. Berania showcased the voice of Filipino youth on the international stage proving that academic excellence and global competence go hand in hand.

This milestone marks a significant moment for the UB community, especially for the AB Communication program, as it continues to mold future communicators and leaders.
