Carmela Lanesca M. Berania, an incoming third-year AB Communication student from the University of Batangas (UB) College of Arts and Sciences, was awarded a Resolution of Commendation by the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Batangas City on June 23, 2025.
The commendation was in recognition of Ms. Berania’s remarkable accomplishment as a Semi-finalist in the 2025 ESU-London International Public Speaking Competition, held from May 12 – 17, 2025, in London, United Kingdom. The prestigious event featured participants from over 50 countries.
Authored by Hon. Councilor Isidra “Ched” Atienza, the resolution was formally presented during the city council’s regular session. It recognized Ms. Berania for her exemplary representation of Batangas City on the global stage and for her inspiring contributions to youth empowerment and excellence in communication.
Joining Ms. Berania at the session were her coaches, parents, and department heads from the College of Arts and Sciences.
