The Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) – Batangas City Council officially recognized the University of Batangas Junior High School (UBBC JHS) as the leading institution for scouting development during the Annual Local Council Meeting held on March 26, 2026. At the Batangas City Convention Center, the council awarded UB the Rank 1 distinction for maintaining the Highest Number of Registered Scouts and achieving the most significant Scout Membership Increase among all secondary schools for the year 2025.

The recognition highlights the university’s success in fostering a culture of service and discipline. During the presentation, the BSP Batangas City Council commended the UB Junior High School administration and its dedicated scout leaders for their consistent recruitment drives and active engagement in community-building activities. This surge in membership proves that the UBian community continues to prioritize civic duty and youth leadership as core components of its educational mission.

By securing the first-place rank, UBBC JHS sets a new benchmark for secondary schools in the region. The university views this achievement not merely as a numerical win, but as a reflection of the students’ growing commitment to the scout oath and law.

UB highlights its robust scouting program to advance the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), molding students into socially conscious global citizens.

By scaling its scouting membership, the university directly promotes SDG 4: Quality Education. Scouting serves as a vital form of non-formal education that equips young learners with life skills, environmental awareness, and leadership traits that standard curricula often lack. Furthermore, the program advances SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities. Increased scout participation ensures a larger pool of youth volunteers who actively engage in disaster risk reduction, environmental conservation, and local community service projects. Finally, the institution supports SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions by instilling the values of integrity, accountability, and ethical leadership in the next generation of Filipino leaders.
