The College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) of the University of Batangas (UB) formally staged the 1st Vanguards Parade: CCJE Epaulette and Ceremonial Review on December 4, 2025, at the UB Millennium Campus, marking a milestone event that highlighted discipline, unity, and professional readiness among criminology students.

CCJE Dean Dr. Angel M. Caliguiran led the activity alongside Prof. Leslie Ann D. Banaag, Program Head of BS Criminology, with the support of faculty members and staff, reinforcing institutional guidance and mentorship throughout the ceremonial review.

Fourth-year BS Criminology Batch MASID-LAYA executed the parade with precision and discipline, demonstrating the practical application of classroom instruction through coordinated movement, command presence, and strict adherence to established protocols. Nichos M. Gabayno served as Company Commander, Alfred R. Vargas acted as Executive Commander, and Paulo Gabriel N. Magtibay carried the guidon, while platoon leaders and drummers maintained order and cadence throughout the review.

“The 1st Vanguards Parade formally showcases the discipline, unity, and professionalism that define CCJE students,” emphasized Prof. Banaag, Faculty Member of CCJE, noting that the activity goes beyond ceremony by serving as a living representation of leadership, accountability, teamwork, and respect for authority – values essential in the criminal justice profession.

The event also strengthened camaraderie among students, faculty members, administrators, and staff, fostering a strong sense of pride and identity within the CCJE community. It reaffirmed the college’s commitment to holistic education by balancing academic excellence with character formation, leadership development, and service-oriented values aligned with the mission and vision of the University of Batangas.
