The University of Batangas (UB) College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) produced SeCOMMder Episode 2 in observance of World Suicide Prevention Day on September 10, 2025 at UB Main Campus.
Mhark Pagana directed and edited the episode, featuring Ella Jane De Chavez and Reese Mendoza. The production focused on “pangangamusta,” the simple act of checking in on others, to show how kindness and empathy can help those silently struggling.
The episode also asked students, “Para kanino ka bumabangon?” Their heartfelt answers revealed how family, friends, and self-belief inspire them to stay resilient.
The college aligned the initiative with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3: Good Health and Well-being, particularly Indicator 3.4.2 – suicide mortality rate, to promote mental health awareness and prevent suicide through educational campaigns and advocacy.
Through SeCOMMder, UB CAS strengthened its advocacy for mental health awareness and reminded the community that genuine care and compassion can spark hope, even in difficult times.
