The University of Batangas (UB) College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) showcased its research excellence as Social Sciences Department Head Dr. Mary Jean P. Alday and CAS Faculty Member Mrs. Kristine Amor S. Catequista, with the support of Institutional Quality Assurance Office (IQAO) Clerk Mrs. Maricia Como as co-author, presented their research titled Feeding the Future: Ensuring Food Security via Long Term Hunger Relief Programs at the 4th Asia Pacific Conference on Educational Research, Social Science and Humanities (APCERSSH) held from September 25 to 26, 2025, at Shinawatra University, Bangkok, Thailand.

Aligned with the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 2: Zero Hunger, the research highlighted the role of community-driven initiatives and partnerships between government and non-government organizations (NGOs) in achieving long-term food security. It also emphasized how educational programs and expert involvement strengthen sustainable community growth.

“Our participation signifies not just individual achievement, but institutional excellence and the enduring commitment of UB to uphold research, innovation, and academic leadership,” Mrs. Catequista said.

She added, “The ‘what now’ calls us to be multipliers of global excellence—to inspire others in the University of Batangas community to pursue international engagements, to continue producing research that matters, and to embody the university’s mission of transforming lives through knowledge and service.”

The CAS researchers expressed their gratitude to the UB Research and Publications Office (RPO), CAS Dean Dr. Priscilla Mizpah Santillana, and the university for their unwavering support in this research endeavor.
