UB nets multiple wins at BAAM 2025

The University of Batangas (UB) clinched multiple victories in the 2025 Batangas City Private Schools Association (BCPRISA) Athletic Association Meet (BAAM), held at the UB Millenium Campus (ML) from August 12 to 16, 2025.

In athletics, UB produced champions led by Naethan Gaebriell Robles who ruled the boys’ 100m and 200m runs, and Gwen Frances De Guzman, who swept the girls’ shot put, discus, and javelin events. Katniss Ceraphina F. Raganit also emerged victorious in the elementary girls’ 400m. Other medalists, including Maria Ericka A. Moreno-Lacalle, Krisdan Yhel C. Alday, James Ernest A. Manalo, Zinedine J. Fermo, Khristina Carla C. Pamorada, and Selwyn B. Manalo, contributed to UB’s strong medal haul. The secondary boys’ relay teams also secured silver and bronze medals in the 4×100 and 4×400 events, respectively.

In table tennis, UB’s young smashers delivered standout performances. Andrea Nicole Macalalad and James Melvin Becamon claimed titles in their respective elementary singles categories, while Maria Fatima Andrea De Guzman captured the high school girls’ singles B crown. UB also secured podium finishes in doubles events through Juris Lawrence C. Alejo and Raphael Gregory A. Mendez. Adding to the winning streak were Chloe Antoine C. De Guzman, Mikael Jan M. Macalalad, Ysabelle H. Sarmiento, Fiona Mari O. Bautista and Mia Angela M. Jordan, and Renz Allen Casas who all placed in their events.

In badminton, UB athletes reigned as champions in boys’ singles A, boys’ doubles, and girls’ doubles. Meanwhile, UB’s chess players checkmated their way to the championship, led by Jedeaih Guen R. Zaraspe, Lance C. Caubang, Paul Andrei P. Pentinio, Laureen Pentinio, and Marteena Aureada. Kyle Luigi F. Aloria also added a bronze medal to UB’s tally.

UB’s volleyball teams, both high school boys and girls, spiked their way to hard-fought victories, while the basketball team powered through their opponents to claim an impressive streak of championship crowns in 5×5 and 3×3, across both elementary and high school boys’ divisions.

With every spike, block, and basket, UB proved that its athletes play not only with skill but also with heart. Their triumphs across different sports reflect the UBian spirit of excellence, resilience, and unity—showing that in every game, they carry the pride of the entire UB community.
