The University of Batangas shared insights into its meaningful history, current accomplishments, and ambitious plans for future expansion. A central theme of the discussions was the internationalization efforts of both institutions. The role of internationalization in student formation is emphasized, focusing on self- knowledge and understanding the world. Ateneo de Manila has a vibrant partnership portfolio and mobility program for students.

Christina Aleppola, Assistant Vice President for University Partnerships and Internationalization at ADMU, emphasized the university’s strategic plan, which centers on four priority areas: education reform and transformation, integral ecology, universal health and well-being, and bridging cultural divides. This strategic direction is aimed at cultivating a global, socially responsible student body that can contribute to addressing the challenges of the modern world. In addition, key personnel from Ateneo’s Support Offices, including Student Affairs, Student Activities, and Guidance and Counseling, provided comprehensive discussions about their mission to support student welfare, sustain services, foster vibrant campus life, and nurture an inclusive community.

The meet-up was made more meaningful with  open discussions  with ADMU  emphasizing the integral formation of persons of discernment, learning, and action, focusing on the development of technical competence, moral discernment, and compassionate service.  An active open floor for questions encouraged everyone to engage in topics like organizational structure, personnel retention, student discipline and formation and mental health support system.  The meeting concluded  with a focus on the importance of collaboration, support, and inclusivity in the student community.

The event concluded with an exchange of best practices between the two universities, allowing both to learn from each other’s experiences and strategies. The visit also included a campus tour, showcasing Ateneo’s facilities, and a special visit to the Ateneo Gallery, offering the guests a glimpse into the university’s rich cultural and artistic heritage.
