News Archive

In response to the emotional challenges faced by UBian students, parents, and the Batangas community caused by Typhoon Kristine, the University of Batangas Counseling and Psychological Wellness Center (CoPWell) has launched a free psychological support service. This initiative is a collaborative effort involving the UB CoPWell, the Graduate School, Student Affairs and External Programs’ Community Extension Services, and the Philippine Guidance and Counseling Association (PGCA) – Batangas Chapter.

The program offers two key support services: Comfort and Support, which provides one-on-one crisis counseling sessions from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and Healing Together, which includes group debriefing sessions scheduled for October 31, November 7, 14, 21, and 28, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

The services are open to all UB students, parents, and Batangas residents affected by the typhoon. This initiative aims to provide emotional support, foster a sense of safety, and help build coping skills for those navigating the aftermath of the disaster. Licensed psychologists, counselors, and volunteers are available to offer compassionate assistance to those in need.

As the Batangas community comes together to recover from Typhoon Kristine, UB remains committed to prioritizing mental health and encourages all affected individuals to take advantage of these support services.
