The University of Batangas, in partnership with Soroptimist International Batangas Premier (SIBP), officially launched The Urban Green Hub on March 13, 2025, beside UB Millennium Gymnasium. With the theme “Innovate, Integrate, Regenerate: Imagining Urban Living, One Green Space at a Time,” the project promotes sustainability and innovation in urban development.
Developed from thesis projects by UB Mechanical Engineering students, the initiative is more than just a green space—it serves as a living laboratory for exploring practical and sustainable solutions for urban planning and represents the first step in creating a more eco-friendly environment.
The event was graced by Atty. Jesus V. Mayo, Chairman of the Board of Regents; Mrs. Jacqueline V. Beloso, SIBP President; Atty. Bernard Mayo, UB AVP for Legal Affairs; UB Administrators; SIBP Scholars; Mechanical Engineering students and faculty; and representatives from Kalipunan ng Liping Pilipina (KALIPI), an adapted community of SIBP from Brgy. Conde Labac, Batangas City.
The Urban Green Hub stands as a beacon of innovation, integrating education, research, and community engagement. Through this initiative, UB and SIBP aim to empower students, uplift communities, and create a greener future—one green space at a time.
