The University of Batangas-Lipa City (UBLC) officially kicked off the holiday season with the Parol Making Contest and Christmas Tree Lighting held last November 12. The event was a testament to the university community’s creativity, teamwork, and festive spirit. Spearheaded by the UBLC Student Government under the leadership of its President, Ms. Keith Bea Dimaculangan, and guided by the Student Affairs and External Programs Office, the celebration brought together students, staff, and faculty for a night of joy and unity. Special recognition was given to the Management of Assets and General Services Office and the Building and Maintenance Department for their efforts in setting up the stunning Christmas tree and lighting display that served as the centerpiece of the celebration.
Highlighting the event was the announcement of winners for the Parol Making Contest. The Brahmans’ Journal (TBJ) shone the brightest, claiming the championship with their innovative and inspiring parol design. The Gens Animus Voxvocis Excellentia Liberum (GAVEL) took second place, while the Future Educators Union (FEU) earned third place for their creative entries.
This year’s contest emphasized sustainability, with all participating student organizations showcasing their talent and resourcefulness through eco-friendly designs. The dedication of the judges and the enthusiasm of the entire UBIAN community made the night a memorable celebration of culture, artistry, and holiday cheer. UBLC’s Christmas Tree Lighting and Parol Making Contest is more than just a tradition—it is a reflection of the university’s spirit of unity and creativity. As the lights continue to shine, the UBIAN community looks forward to a season filled with love, joy, and togetherness.
