The Association of United Student Assistants (AUSA) of the University of Batangas Lipa City (UBLC) officially launched its Gulayan Project in Barangay Bulacnin on March 21, 2025. This initiative is a significant step toward promoting sustainable gardening, food security, and community participation, aligning with broader efforts to encourage environmental responsibility and self-sufficiency.
In collaboration with local officials and community members, the project highlights the significance of shared responsibility in environmental sustainability. Through hands-on participation in planting, maintaining, and harvesting crops, students and residents alike are empowered to take an active role in preserving natural resources and fostering a greener, healthier future. This initiative also serves as an educational platform, where participants learn about proper gardening techniques, composting methods, and the benefits of organic farming. The long-term goal of the Gulayan Project is not only to provide fresh produce but also to instill a culture of sustainability among students and the local community.
By working together, AUSA and Barangay Bulacnin are setting an example of how collective action can lead to meaningful environmental and social change. With continued support and engagement, this project has the potential to grow, benefiting more communities and reinforcing the importance of sustainable living in everyday life.
