The University of Batangas Batangas City Campus (UBBC), in collaboration with the Schools Division Office of Batangas City, proudly hosted the R4A CALABARZON 2025 Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC) advance events from February 5 to 7, 2025.
The highly anticipated event brought together representatives from the 23 divisions of CALABARZON, with over 700 student journalists and advisers participating in the competitions.
The University of Batangas served as the venue for key categories, including Online Publishing, TV Scriptwriting and Broadcasting, and Radio Scriptwriting and Broadcasting for the Secondary English division.
In addition to the University of Batangas, several other institutions in Batangas City also hosted different RSPC events: Alangilan Elementary School accommodated the Radio Broadcasting Elementary Filipino category, Lyceum of the Philippines-Batangas hosted the Radio Broadcasting Secondary Filipino category, while Batangas City Integrated School facilitated the Radio Broadcasting Elementary English category.
With the theme “From Campus to Career: Empowering Resilient Journalists to Uphold Truth and Excellence in CALABARZON,” the conference aimed to celebrate and nurture the region’s emerging journalists, equipping them with skills essential for media and communication careers.
The annual RSPC provides a platform for young journalists to demonstrate their skills and dedication to responsible journalism, reinforcing the importance of campus journalism in upholding truth, integrity, and excellence in media.
