UB Millennium Campus houses DSPC contenders; hosts group competitions

As the Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC) 2024 continues on its second day, the University of Batangas extended its home to DepEd Division of Batangas City and housed its DSPC contenders for group events last November 13, 2024. 

The campus journalists from the different schools in Batangas City, competed in a thrilling head to head group events: Collaborative Desktop Publishing, TV Broadcasting, Online Publishing, and Mobile Journalism. These categories provided participants with the opportunity to demonstrate their skills and vie for spots at the upcoming regional and national competitions.

“We are happy to welcome campus journalists from both the public and private schools. We’re hoping for a successful event yet again” Dr. Redentor Rodriguez, Director for Culture Arts and Publications.

With its new Millenium Gym able to accommodate more than 3,000 seats, the collaborative desktop publishing, online publishing and mobile journalism joined by more than 1,000 journalists from Elementary and Secondary, the competitions concluded smoothly. 

“The SDO Batangas City is grateful for the warm accommodation given to us by UB; it was convenient for all of our campus journalists to be in a comfortable place with a hospitable workforce” Dr. Leila M. Seco, English Program Supervisor for Campus Journalism.

The event will culminate with an awarding ceremony on November 15, 2024, at Batangas City Integrated High School. Student journalists, mentors, and supporters are eagerly awaiting the announcement of the winners, who will then have the chance to represent their schools and divisions at the regional and national levels.
