Bachelor of Science in Management Accounting students from the University of Batangas (UB) clinched their National Certified Bookkeeper (NCB) credentials during the Batch 139 assessment phase held in Cauayan City, Isabela, in May 2026.
The university honors the five management accounting students who successfully earned their professional certifications: John Gandeza, NCB; Trisha C. Pila, NCB; Nhisia Nicole M. Reintegrado, NCB; Lory Jane F. Sagun, NCB; and Jhestine May A. Sale, NCB.
This professional certification strongly advances United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education. Specifically, the achievement aligns with Target 4.4, which aims to substantially increase the number of youth and adults who have relevant skills, including technical and vocational skills, for employment, decent jobs, and entrepreneurship. By embedding industry-recognized certifications into the academic journey, the university directly improves the proportion of youth with specialized technical capabilities (Indicator 4.4.1).
Concurrently, the feat promotes SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, fulfilling Target 8.5 by equipping future professionals to achieve full and productive employment and decent work for all women and men.
According to guidelines from the Local 2030 Coalition and UN-related organizations, SDG Localization requires shifting global agendas into concrete mechanisms for local economic resilience. Infusing certified financial specialists into the workforce directly supports regional development outside mega-urban hubs. These certified bookkeepers strengthen local enterprises, cooperatives, and municipal offices in regional sectors like Cauayan City, thereby reinforcing SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions through Target 16.6, which mandates the development of effective, accountable, and transparent institutions at all levels.
The newly minted National Certified Bookkeepers now possess the verified technical competencies required to manage rigorous financial operations, elevate accounting standards, and drive economic transparency across local industries.
