The University of Batangas (UB) Alumni Association Inc. (AAI) held a vibrant and meaningful “Zumba for a Cause” event on July 20, 2024, at the UB ML Gymnasium, uniting alumni and community members in an energetic morning of fitness, fun, and philanthropy.
The initiative aimed to raise funds for the UBAAI Scholarship Program, supporting the education of deserving students while fostering health, wellness, and camaraderie among participants.
The event began with an early morning registration that welcomed over 200 participants dressed in colorful Zumba attire. The lively atmosphere filled the gymnasium as upbeat music set the tone for a morning of movement and purpose. UB Alumni Association President Mrs. Eloisa Angela D. Portugal opened the event with warm remarks, emphasizing the importance of giving back while promoting a healthy lifestyle.
Certified Zumba instructors from TML Crew and Indak Batangas Trio led the main session, keeping participants energized and united through every beat. Alumni, students, and guests danced in harmony, embodying the event’s spirit of collective strength and community engagement.
The highlight of the closing program celebrated the enthusiasm and creativity of the participants through several awards, including Biggest Delegation, Most Energetic, Face of the Night, Early Bird, Ms. Flawless, Best Outfit, and Zumba King and Queen. Generous sponsors such as Elitista Salon, Dzayrable Skin, and Great Swiss Metal Builders provided prizes to the awardees in recognition of their participation and spirit.
The event concluded with heartfelt gratitude from the organizers, who acknowledged the collective effort that made the activity a success. Through this initiative, the UB Alumni Association raised ₱11,000, reaffirming the alumni community’s commitment to education and social responsibility.
More than a fitness gathering, “Zumba for a Cause” became a symbol of unity, wellness, and compassion. The participants left the venue uplifted and proud, carrying with them not only the joy of movement but also the fulfillment of having contributed to a meaningful cause.
