The University of Batangas (UB) Association of Legal Management Majors (ALMMa) launched two social media initiatives, “ALMMa Mo Ba?” and “ALMMa I-Fact Check Mo,” on September 16, 2024, to raise awareness about misinformation and its effects on society. Through these projects, ALMMa empowered students and the public to think critically and verify information before sharing it online.

The campaigns used infographics and educational posts to simplify complex legal and political issues. By citing credible evidence and legal resources, ALMMa ensured that its content fostered an informed understanding of controversial topics. Both projects engaged Legal Management students, faculty members, and online audiences beyond the university, transforming social media into a learning platform that encourages responsible digital citizenship.

The organization emphasized the dangers of misinformation, particularly its influence on legislation and public safety. Each post challenged readers to question the accuracy of the information they encounter and to rely on verified sources. This interactive approach not only enhanced public awareness but also strengthened the participants’ ability to discern truth from falsehood.

Aligned with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education, these initiatives promoted accessible and lifelong learning by equipping individuals with media and information literacy skills. Through these campaigns, ALMMa reinforced the value of education as a tool for empowerment—one that enables people to make informed, rational, and ethical decisions in the digital age.

By continuously engaging the community through fact-based content, ALMMa demonstrated that informed communication builds a more responsible and truth-driven society.
