The Brahman Pillar of the University of Batangas Lipa City Shines at 2024 Division Schools Press Conference

The Brahman Pillar, the official student publication of the University of Batangas Lipa City – High School, recently made waves at the 2024 Division Schools Press Conference, held on December 9-11, 2024. The event showcased the exceptional talent and dedication of aspiring student journalists from various schools in the region.

Several members of The Brahman Pillar stood out during the competition, impressing judges with their skills in various categories. Timothy Armhand Marcus Alipio, a back-to-back champion, (Regional Qualifier) as Best Technical Specialist (Filipino). Daryll Jave D. Rosaldo also earned 1st Place (Regional Qualifier) as Best Anchor, while John Menard B. Calingasan claimed 1st Place (Regional Qualifier) as Best News Presenter. Christ Aljay Polo M. Ramos and Cassandra Denise P. Alvarez displayed excellence in Mobile Journalism, securing 2nd Place (English) and 3rd Place (Filipino), respectively. Meanwhile, Amanda Cherie P. Alvarez impressed with a 3rd Place finish in Best Infomercial, and Pauline Ayesha R. Pilapil achieved 3rd Place (Regional Qualifier) in Sports Writing (English).

Their outstanding performance, underscored by these individual achievements, reflects their dedication, creativity, and passion for campus journalism. These accomplishments were made possible with the steadfast support and guidance of their advisers, Mrs. Maria Lerma Angel Papa-Latina and Mr. Jerome P. De Los Reyes, who played a key role in refining their skills and talents. The Division Schools Press Conference provided a valuable opportunity for young writers, editors, and broadcasters to develop their craft, share ideas, and celebrate the essence of campus journalism. The success of The Brahman Pillar team not only highlights their individual and collective efforts but also brings pride and recognition to the entire UBLC High School community.
