The SineMulat 2025 Film Festival, themed “Kwentong Barbero, Kwentong Totoo”, was held at the University of Batangas Lipa City (UBLC) Multi-Purpose Hall, marking its second year as a platform for student storytelling and creative expression.
Organized by the UBLC Multimedia Artist Circle from the College of Information Technology, Entertainment, and Communications, the event featured short films created by students from various invited schools. The festival was conducted under the guidance of Dean Dr. Mayling I. Capuno, and aimed to explore diverse narratives rooted in social commentary, personal experiences, and local culture.
SineMulat 2025 served as both an artistic showcase and an educational activity, encouraging students to use film as a medium for meaningful dialogue. Through visual storytelling, participants examined themes ranging from everyday realities to imagined perspectives, reflecting the event’s balance between fiction and truth.
Now an annual tradition, the festival continues to reinforce the role of film as a powerful tool for youth expression and cultural reflection within the university setting.
