Carmela Lanesca Berania Wins National Champion of the English Speaking Union’s Philippine Competition for IPSC 2025

The University of Batangas is proud to announce that Carmela Lanesca Berania, a second-year AB Communication student from the College of Arts and Sciences, has been named the National Champion of the English-Speaking Union’s Philippine Competition for the International Public Speaking Competition (IPSC) 2025. The competition was held on March 21, 2025, at The Atrium Campus of De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde.

This prestigious competition, which was organized by the English Speaking Union Philippines, British Council Philippines, and Toastmasters International Philippines – District 75, saw 38 outstanding contestants from across the country each demonstrating their eloquence, critical thinking, and public speaking skills. After a highly competitive selection process, Carmela emerged as the top speaker, earning the honor of representing the Philippines at IPSC 2025 in London, United Kingdom, scheduled for May 12 to 16, 2025. 

The coaches are Ms. Angel Liwag and Mr. Julius Ceazar P. Lepran, both faculty members of the UB College of Arts and Sciences. 

This outstanding accomplishment showcases Carmela’s dedication and exceptional skill in public speaking, and the University of Batangas is incredibly proud of her.
