CALABARZON, Philippines – October 21, 2024
In an effort to combat the growing issue of illegal drug use, UBLC Student Affairs and External Programs Office recently organized a symposium titled “Battle Against Drugs” in partnership with the Battle Against Drugs CALABARZON Chapter Region 4-A. The event, held last October 21, 2024, aimed to educate and raise awareness within the community about the dangers posed by illegal substances.
The symposium took place at the UBLC Multipurpose Hall in Building C and gathered participants, mainly composed of students and some faculty members. Running from 1 PM to 5 PM, the event provided attendees with vital information on the subject, empowering them to take proactive measures against illegal drugs.
During the seminar, speakers covered three major topics: different kinds of illegal drugs, the dangerous effects of illegal drugs, and ways to achieve deliverance and recovery. Experts presented a detailed overview of various types of illegal drugs, helping the audience recognize and understand substances that pose a threat to individuals and the community.
One of the speakers, a representative from the Battle Against Drugs CALABARZON Chapter, emphasized the severe physical and mental consequences of drug use. The session highlighted the alarming statistics related to addiction and stressed the irreversible harm that drug use can cause to individuals, families, and society at large.
Participants appreciated the relevance and importance of the symposium, leaving with a deeper understanding of the pressing issues related to illegal drug use and a strengthened resolve to contribute to the community’s collective effort to battle this ongoing menace.
Through the Battle Against Drugs symposium, UBLC SAEP Office, in collaboration with the Battle Against Drugs CALABARZON Chapter, demonstrated a firm commitment to creating a safer and drug-free environment. As the event came to a close, the message was clear: each individual has a role to play in safeguarding the community and fostering a culture of awareness and prevention.
