The University of Batangas (UB) College of Business, Accountancy, and Hospitality Management (CBAHM) launched an intensive Cabin Crew Training Program at UB Hotel 1946 on June 1, 2026, to prepare students for global aviation careers.
Under this new initiative, trainees utilize a realistic airplane mock-up room to practice first-class service and safety drills. This immersive facility allows students to build real-world confidence inside a cabin environment before they ever step onto a commercial aircraft. The 20-day course converts directly into On-the-Job Training (OJT) hours, while shorter 15-day options and daily workshops accommodate busy student schedules.
To ensure absolute realism, students execute emergency evacuation drills on a slide raft and practice firefighting in designated university facilities. The program equips participants with essential skills in premium cabin service, basic first aid, professional grooming, and airline interview techniques.
This practical training aligns directly with UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education. The simulation-based curriculum supports Target 4.4, which seeks to increase the number of youth with relevant technical and vocational skills for decent jobs. The university measures this achievement through Indicator 4.4.1, which monitors the proportion of youth acquiring these technical capabilities.
Furthermore, the program advances SDG Target 8.6, which seeks to reduce the proportion of youth out of employment, education, or training. By securing direct pathways to high-paying international airlines through Indicator 8.6.1, the university lowers economic barriers for Batangueño youth. This strategic training allows regional talent to bypass underemployment, access lucrative global careers, and return vital financial strength to their households.
Localizing this target directly addresses youth underemployment within the Batangas province. By delivering world-class aviation standards locally, the university eliminates the need for expensive private training academies in Manila. Graduates secure direct pathways to high-paying international airlines, which strengthens the economic resilience of families across the CALBARZON region.
