Two University of Batangas (UB) Bachelor of Science in Management Accounting (BS MA) students successfully cleared the rigorous Certified Payroll Specialist (CPS) national examination administered by the Accounting Certification and Training Institute (ACTI) in Cauayan City, Isabela, in May 2026.
The tough ACTI exam forced the takers to tackle complex labor laws, advanced math formulas for worker benefits, and corporate tax withholding rules. The two brave accounting majors who conquered the challenge and brought pride back to our campus are: Reign Xei B. Catimbang, CPS and Claire Anne C. Rivera, CPS
By grabbing these professional titles while still finishing their college degrees, Catimbang and Rivera just secured a massive head start in the job market. They are now fully equipped to step straight into corporate offices, protect businesses from labor penalties, and run modern payroll systems like seasoned pros.
