University of Batangas (UB) Automotive Technology student Juan Carlos M. Muñoz College of Industrial Technology (CIT) bagged the Silver Medal in the Automotive Technology trade area during the 2026 TESDA Worldskills Philippines – CALABARZON competition. The regional skills tournament ran from May 25 to 28, 2026, at the Toyota Motor Philippines School of Technology.
Under the rigorous technical mentorship of his coach, Mr. Ramon R. Dipasupil, Muñoz competed against elite technical-vocational students from across Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon. The multi-day competition evaluated the participants’ precision, diagnostic speed, and troubleshooting capabilities in modern automotive systems, electrical wiring, and mechanical overhauls.
Muñoz’s podium finish emphasizes the strong commitment of the CIT faculty to align instructional modules with actual industrial parameters, preparing tech-voc students to resolve complex engineering issues under corporate pressure.
