Three brilliant mathletes from the University of Batangas (UB) Junior High School department captured top awards in the online Hong Kong International Mathematical Olympiad (HKIMO) Heat Round on May 17, 2026.

Grade 9 Avogadro student Reizo Mikael L. Adorable led the UB delegation by winning the prestigious Gold Award. His stellar performance outpaced competitors from across the globe, testing his mathematical logic across rigorous exam topics.

The university also celebrated two exceptional silver medalists who demonstrated sharp critical thinking and structural numerical precision during the competitive timed trial. Grade 9 Avogadro student Shawqi Yousef A. Evangelista and Grade 8 Fleming student Kate Louise F. Aloria both secured Silver Awards in their respective grade categories. By scoring in the top tier of the international tournament, all three medalists earned an invitation to advance to the global final round, solidifying UB’s reputation for cultivating high-level logical reasoning skills outside standard textbook instruction.

This academic milestone actively drives the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by directly supporting SDG 4: Quality Education. The mathematical victory validates the University of Batangas’ strategy to integrate global academic benchmarks into its junior high school curriculum, proving that the institution gives young learners the competitive infrastructure and analytical tools required to achieve international academic excellence.
