Batangas City, April 20, 2024 – The University of Batangas (UB) College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) reinforced its commitment to Quality Education (SDG 4) by successfully hosting a comprehensive training program for the upcoming CAS-ISIPAN, CAS-KATUWIRAN interschool debate series. The event, held at the H-Building on April 19, 2024, aimed to equip young learners with the essential skills for intellectual engagement and civic awareness.
The training served as an integral component of the debate series, which seeks to promote respectful discourse and analytical reasoning among high school students. Faculty facilitators from UB led intensive sessions, providing participants with in-depth guidance on: Debate mechanics and argumentation, Evidence-based reasoning, Constructing logical arguments and responding to counterclaims and Delivering persuasive speeches with confidence.
Beyond technical proficiency, the activity emphasized teamwork and collaborative learning. Students from various schools worked together in practice debates, learning to engage effectively with diverse perspectives and communicate ideas clearly.
