Organized by the UBLC Research and Publications Office, the activity served as a venue for evaluating research proposals, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, and strengthening the university\u2019s culture of research and evidence-based practice. The initiative highlighted the institution\u2019s commitment to generating knowledge that supports sustainable development, technological advancement, and community transformation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among the studies presented were research initiatives focusing on smart city development and governance, women-led food processing for rural development, and the testing and evaluation of a generative artificial intelligence-powered prototyping platform for Computer Engineering courses. Other proposals explored the psychological re-entry barriers experienced by former persons deprived of liberty, the development of a student data privacy handbook for AI-driven student support services, and healthcare access and equity for persons deprived of liberty under the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology in Lipa City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The presentations also featured studies on sustainable food safety innovations and public health equity, the development of a digital resilience toolkit for rural micro, small, and medium enterprises in Bulacnin, Lipa City, and transformative approaches in Physical Education aimed at enhancing student engagement, critical consciousness, and lifelong learning. Additional proposals examined digital citizenship and ethical online behavior among senior high school students, the GREENS Project for food processing and agribusiness MSMEs in Ibaan, Batangas, and Project Smart-Bulacnin, which seeks to promote community-based innovation and sustainable development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Through the forum, faculty members and employees were given the opportunity to refine their research concepts through academic discourse and expert feedback from panel members representing various fields of specialization within the university. Dr. Carl Ivan Villanueva, Director of the UB Distance Education, provided insights on educational technology and innovation; Dr. Minerva Apita-Chavez, Dean of the College of Education, Arts, and Science, shared perspectives on pedagogy and interdisciplinary research; while Dr. Pastor R. Arguelles Jr., Director of the Research and Publications Office, offered guidance on research quality, methodology, and institutional relevance. Their expertise enabled researchers to strengthen their proposals and ensure alignment with institutional priorities and societal needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The diverse research agenda reflected the university\u2019s commitment to producing responsive, relevant, and impactful studies that can inform policies, strengthen communities, and improve quality of life.
