Caregiving (Newborn To Preschooler) NCII (5 months)

Equip the students with knowledge, skills and attitudes through various activities designed to render quality nursing care to their patients and to collaborate with other members of the health care team

PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

- Produce a competent beginning nurse clinician able to function efficiently with integrity and compassion to various clienteles in any health care setting.
- Develop a beginning nurse researcher capable of generating research findings to uphold evidence – base practices and improve health care outcomes.
- Produce a beginning nurse manager engage in continuing professional
advancement and capable of directing health teams, program and strategies for effective and efficient client care, and
- Develop a beginning nurse practitioner engage in community health services and practice the profession in accordance with legal, ethical, and moral principles

PROGRAM OUTCOMES

- Apply knowledge of physical, social, natural and health sciences and humanities in the practice of nursing.
- Perform safe, appropriate, and holistic care to individuals, families, population groups, and community
- Apply guidelines and principles of evidence – based practice in the delivery of care.
- Practice nursing in accordance with existing laws, legal, ethical, and moral principles.
- Communicate effectively in speaking, writing and presenting using culturally appropriate language
- Report and document up to date client care accurately and comprehensively
- Collaborate effectively with inter -, intra-, and multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams.
- Practice beginning management and leadership skills using systems approach in the delivery of client care.
- Conduct research with an experienced teacher.
- Engage in lifelong learning with a passion to keep current with national and global developments in general, and nursing and health developments in particular
- Demonstrate responsible citizenship and pride in being a Filipino.
- Apply techno – intelligent care systems and processes in health care delivery.
- Uphold the core values in the practice of the profession.
- Apply entrepreneurial skills in the delivery of care.

A one year course that equips the student with knowledge skills, and attitudes covering the basic, common, and core competencies in preparing and maintaining beds, collecting and maintaining linen stocks at end-user locations, assisting with patient mobility, transport and bio-psychosocial support care of patients, and handling waste in a health care environment.
