UB submits to government health and safety representatives for Safety Seal inspection

Representatives of the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office IV (CHEDRO IV), the Department of Health (DOH) - CALABARZON, and the Batangas City Government visited University of Batangas (UB) last October 17, 2022 to check the institution’s compliance with health and safety standards.

Both UB - Batangas City (UBBC) and UB - Lipa City (UBLC) campuses underwent the Safety Seal Ocular Inspection. This inspection was conducted to assess whether or not the university adheres to government guidelines on conducting face-to-face classes during different COVID- 19 alert levels.

UBBC Safety Officer Mr. Paul Sangalang, Head Guard Mr. Willy Serrano, and Safety Marshals Mr. King Harold Florendo, Mr. Harvey Garcia, Mr. Mark Anthony Roxas, and Ms. Jonalyn Altuna were at UBBC to welcome the government inspectors.

Mr. Sangalang also accompanied the group that walked the inspectors through at UBLC. This group is composed of UBLC Safety Officer Mr. Jimmy Laguitan, Safety Marshal Mr. Jun Maalihan, Assistant Vice-President for Academic Affairs Dr. Lolita Tegon, Marketing and Public Relations Officer Mrs. Joe Buera-Kalaw, Marketing and Media Relations Coordinator Mr. Juan Paolo Alberto and UBLC Nurse Mrs. Abigail Hernandez.

The implementation of health and safety protocols was observed during the inspection of UB’s classrooms, laboratories, thermal scanners, and other school facilities and equipment.
