UB inks MOA with LTO for Basic Driving Course integration in the K-12 Curriculum

University of Batangas and Land Transportation Office have teamed up to bring
road safety campaign right in the doorstep of every classroom of Junior High School
students. On July 4, 2022, UB and LTO signed the agreement for the integration of
LTO “Students Today, Road Users Tomorrow (STRUT) Modules in the K-12
Curriculum of the University. UB is the pioneer private school who will implement
the theoretical module for student drivers. Students would only need to present the
diploma to LTO and are now qualified for driver license.

In the MOA signing ceremony, Land Transportation Office (LTO) Regional Director
Noreen Bernadette San Luis-Lutey emphasized that everyone is a road user- a
driver, passenger or pedestrian. With this, the program will not only teach students
to drive but will also be geared towards the promotion of the safety of general and
creating people who are safety-conscious.

The MOA Signing event was represented by the following: Dr. Hernando B. Perez,

UB guarantees that its graduates will become truly highly competitive through this
program- creative, adaptable, and adaptive- providing pupils with the 21 st century
skills and a unique learning experience. Studying road safety is now a must for all
people, it also helps students become job and life ready, socially responsible, and
productive.
