UNIVERSITY OF BATANGAS CONTINUES TO STRENGTHEN PREVENTION AND CONTROL OF COVID-19

The University of Batangas’ Crisis Management Team, one with the government in
fighting the spread of the COVID-19 disease, continues to reinforce measures and
strategies to minimize possible virus transmission in the university.
A re-orientation webinar on COVID-19 protocols was conducted last March 30, 2021,
10:00AM via private Facebook group. All teaching and non-teaching personnel were
enjoined to watch the webinar to be reminded again of the do’s and don’ts during these
challenging times.

Furthermore, the following health protocol guidelines are implemented:
I. Before Entering the University Premises:
Anyone who shall enter the campus must have NO SINGLE SIGN OR SYMPTOM
of COVID- 19. Remain or stay at home when one (faculty, student, and staff) does
not feel well.
All students, faculty, employee, contractor and supplier should have the following
before entering the University Premises.
1. Prescribed Face Mask and Face Shield.
2. Personal hygiene kit containing 70% alcohol, tissue and or hand sanitizer.
3. Ball pen
4. Smartphone user installation of the QR Scanner for the required contact tracing.
5. Must have installed the Stay Safe App Ph.
6. Bottled Water
7. School Identification card/ Company ID

II. Upon Entering the University Premises:
All students, faculty, employee, contractor and supplier should do the following:
1. Observe 1.5 meters physical distancing.
2. Submit oneself for thermal scanning; if temperature is 37.5 and above, he/she
will not be allowed to enter the premises and will be advised to go home and take
a rest. Details will then be submitted to his/her respective barangay for further
monitoring.
3. Scan the QR Code and fill out the health declaration. (For those who have the
QR Scanner App)
4. Fill out the health declaration form using your own pen. (For those who do not
have the Scanner App)
5. Present the Filled out declaration form at the guard on duty.
6. Disinfect hands using the provided alcohol and make use of the footbath.

III. While inside the University Premises:
Everyone must observe the following while inside the University Premises:
1. Must wear face mask and face shield all the time while inside the University
Premises.
2. Observe social distancing.
3. Observe one way foot traffic.
4. No Loitering.
5. No eating and drinking at the common areas of the University Premises. Canteen
will be open for eating and drinking purposes only. Staying at the canteen will be
limited for 15 minutes per individual.
6. No sharing of food and group meal-gathering while on break.
7. Avoid spitting.

IV. While Inside the classrooms, offices and common areas
Everyone must observe the following while inside the classrooms, laboratories,
classrooms, offices and common areas:
1. Wear your face mask and face shield all the time.
2. Observe social distancing.
3. Strictly no sharing and borrowing of personal materials and belongings.
4. Stay only at the designated seat.
5. Upon exit, first row leaves the classroom first.
6. Always fall in line when entering offices/ areas such as Library, Registrar’s Office
etc. Each student is allowed to stay for a maximum of two hours in the Library.
Limited seats shall be maintained.
7. Disinfect regularly and wipe down his/her own chair tablets in the class every
thirty minutes.
8. Only four (4) persons will be allowed in the elevator. While inside the elevator,
face the wall and refrain from talking.
9. Refrain from talking while inside enclosed areas.
10. Students will only be allowed to enter and exit the university premises once.
11. Avoid small or big group gatherings.

V. While conducting Limited Face to Face Classes
Programs granted for Face-to-face classes shall protocols and guidelines:

1. Please wear your face mask and face shield all the time.
2. Observe social distancing.
3. Must have a QR Code App for Online Health Declaration.
4. Must install the Staysafe.ph app and must always be updated.
5. Strictly no sharing and borrowing.
6. Stay only at the designated seat.
7. Upon exit, first row leaves the classroom first.
8. Windows shall remain open. Proper ventilation will be observed.
9. Limited number of students shall stay in the classrooms, laboratories. Declared
capacities will be strictly implemented.
10. Classes will follow cyclical and staggered schedule.
11. Students are highly advised to bring their own food. Meal must be eaten inside
the classroom. Reusable containers/ utensils are highly encouraged. No sharing
of food and no talking while eating. Staggered and scheduled meal time
(15minutes) will be implemented.
12. Students will only be allowed to enter and exit the university premises once.

There are personnel deputized as health marshals to ensure adherence of employees
to the minimum health standards and protocols.
Also, in line with the University’s drive to minimize, if not eradicate the spread of the
virus, the University President through the recommendation of the Crisis Management
Team announced the implementation of the work arrangement for the month of April. At
the same time, a staggered break time schedule and well-ventilated eating areas are
provided to allow departments to manage operations in a safer and more effective
manner throughout the pandemic
University of Batangas strives to continuously provide healthy learning and work
