Indeed, it is another victorious performance for the University of Batangas and the College of
Engineering after producing 55 newly registered Electrical Engineers with two topnotchers, Engr.
Ervin B. Reña who ranked fifth, and Engr. Francis Leonard Tinaja who is also a proud graduate of the
UB High School Department placed tenth, in the September 2019 Electrical Engineer Licensure
Examination.
The results, released last September 6, 2019, showed UB’s commendable 100% passing
percentage, making University of Batangas the Top 1 performing school nationwide.
It has been challenging for the college to achieve the hundred percent passing rate, but with the
support of the whole university, the joint efforts of the dean and all the faculty members, and the
support of the parents, the university has been consistent in this tradition.
“The secret to success is hardwork, interest and character”, shared Dr. Henry I. Cabatay, the dean of
the College of Engineering when asked how they have been consistent in their achievements.
The whole university is really proud with the college’s dedication to continuously produce board
passers and even topnotchers. “Passion, dedication and hardwork, we will not be able to do this
without the hardwork of the faculty”, shared Atty. Jesus V. Mayo, Chairman of the Board of Regents.
The two topnotchers from UB were both overwhelmed of the results. “Unang una, inaalay ko ito sa
Panginoon, dahil lahat ng ito ay utang ko sa kanya, second ay sa aking pamilya na sobrang
nagsupport sa akin simula pa lang noong una, sa mga taong nagadasal, nagtiwala at tumulong sa
akin para maabot ang pangarap na ito”, shared Reña.
Asked of his tip to students who are also rooting to pass the upcoming board examination, Tinaja
shared “Dapat meron silang inspirasyon, dapat may pinanghahawakan sila, lagi sila may pangarap,
dapat may gusto sila i-achieve sa buhay, lahat naman natutupad, lahat ng pangarap natutupad, lahat
possible basta nagsisikap ang tao”.
The new UBian Electrical Engineers were presented and given recognition during the university’s flag
ceremony last September 9, 2019. The two topnotchers received cash incentives from University of
Batangas for their exemplary performance and for bringing pride to the institution.
