University of Batangas holds 2nd Outstanding Alumni Awards

An educational institution can assert its greatness in providing quality education through the
success of its alumni in line with its core values- Spirit, Intellect and Purpose. Evidently, a good number
of the university’s alumni have gained distinction through success in their profession.

With the aim to recognize alumni who have made an outstanding involvement in their field of
endeavor at a local, national or international level, and celebrate their success and achievement, the
University of Batangas Alumni Association Inc. headed by its President, Cong. Raneo E. Abu, held its 2 nd
Outstanding Alumni Awards last December 12, 2018 at the J.Y Javier Hall, Culture and Arts Building,
Hilltop Batangas City.

Among the awardees for the BS Accountancy program were Mr. Renato G. Eje, Mrs. Liza V.
Mercado, and Mrs. Saylita A. Cabral. For the BS Business Administration program are Dr. Bendalyn M.
Landicho, Mrs. Teresa L. Tan-Co, Ms. Ronessa D. Matira, Ms. Marinel C. Cuenca, Mr. Jonald S. Bacal and
Dr. Napoleon M. Arago, Jr. and from the program of BS Office Administration, the awardees are Mrs.
Imelda E. Abad, Mrs. Priscila D. Gonzales and Mrs. Lorna D. Obeda. Under the BSED program, Dr.
Raymund M. Ferry, Dr. Wilhelm D. Siscar, Dr. Meniano D. Ebora, Mr. Dexter V. Alvis, and Ms. Rori P.
Delos Reyes were among the awarded alumni.

From the College of Arts and Sciences, 14 distinguished alumni were recognized, under the
program of AB Communication, Mr. Micheal T. Matibag, Mrs. Maria Niña Laureano-Daynata, Mrs.
Ronjoy Bonifacio-Eballena, Ms. Valerie Isoreta and Dr. Rene E. Bersoto are awarded. Also, included on
the list were Ms. Aiza A. Delos Reyes, RGC, Dr. Romaine G. Magboo, Ms. Rachel B. Babali, and Ms. Julie
Ann M. Dimaculangan, RPm, MA, they are under the program of AB Psychology. Meanwhile, under the
program of AB Political Science are Atty. Ronie A. Geron, Judge Ma. Socorro Alea Godoy, Atty. Adonis P.
Sulit, Judge Gener M. Gito and Atty. Josephine A. Concepcion.

Also, recognized were Mrs. Shiela Marie C. Velasquez, Ms. Hazel Joy J. Mercado, Mrs. Gileen M.
Arante, Mr. John Randolf M. Navarro and Mr. Edver G. Laparan under the program BS Nursing. From the
BS Informatiom Technology, included in the list are Mr. Jerome G. ALday, Mr. John Ray M. Ebora, Ms.
Keeshia Marie M. Cabral Ms. Jeanina Ann P. Peralta and Ms. Divina Gracia T. Bucog. Completing the list
of this year’s awardees were Ms. Rodessa A. Asi, Mr. Mark Andrew M. Zamora, Mrs. Caroline E. Cueto
and Mr. Christopher S. Sastado from the program BS Hotel and Restaurant Management.
Atty. Jesus V. Mayo, Chairman of the Board of Regents, Deans and Officers of the UBAAI graced
the event.

Indeed, the awarding ceremony was a clear manifestation of the university’s impact to the local,
national and global communities.
